Default Trilene vs. Stren, Powerpro vs. Stren Super Braid

What is your personal preference, Stren or Trilene for all around fishing?

Trilene beats Stren

Stren was a good line for the time I used it, power pro handled better, but I dont like braid. Get a fused line, I hear they are better

I switched from Stren to Trilene years ago because Trilene was the first mono that was available in green-20+ years and I haven't looked back.

I switched from Spiderwire to Powerpro on the recommendation of a guy I respect and have been so pleased with it no need to try Stren Superbraid.

used silver thread first, then trilene, then stren, then p-line and now I'm back to trilene..and now that I can find silver thread again,I'm using it for my spinning applications.
braid..used spiderwire stealth, super braid and power pro...don't like any of them.I'm just not a braid person.

Don't care for Trilene XT myself. Bought some spools last year and the memory in the line is really high. Switched to Stren last year in the middle of the season and had no problem. I am gonna try Vanish this year. Anyone like this line? Or have you had problems with it.

I tried Vanish and had no complaints other than memory. Switched to Seguar Carbon Pro on the recommendation of a guy I respect and like it much better than Vanish.

Well I don't know what to think. I had alot of inconsistant line with Berkely at one time, but that was years ago when I was tournament fishing more than I do now. I really like Stren line, it works well and is priced for the common people to afford.I love braid lines, but not all are equal for all purpose fishing.I didn't have much use for power pro compared to other braids, but I bought 6 boxes of 30 lb power pro at Walmart for $2.50 a box of 150 yard.I also bought Berkely Iron silk again, it still is crap, gave it to the wife to take at work to hang banners and holiday decorations at her workplace, so it wasn't entirely a waste.I also bought Berkely Vanish Transition line and most likely switch back to the Seguar Carbon pro line I have been using recommended by the same guy Rebbasser listened to. There are all sorts of good line out there. P-Line flouroclear line works really well, last year I used Sufix siege which is awesome line and Mustad Thor line which is very good as well. The best line I have ever used was the Japanese lines, Jinkai brand and Toray brand line, but they are very difficult to find and in my opinion is too expensive to buy to use for recreational fishing, but I am not always correct. Trilene, Stren has memory, it's not very abrasive resistant, and breaks easy. Never used Stren braid because I don't like the mono, but like Power Pro.

Everyone on this site seems to love PowerPro. Myself, I choose McCoy's Mean Green Copolymer. I have had much less problems with my line every since making the switch to this brand.

Stren fourocarbon. Strong, resistant, basically no stretch. Have had NO break offs while setting the hook.
I use it for casting in 10 lb test, (which in case your wondering, will hold up to big bass.) 17 with worms and 20 while flipping. Have used this line for years.
Great line, do recommend.

Power pro for heavy fresh and light salt water
Cajun red when I need a leader
Yozuri hybride for casting into pads, sinks better than pro
Just got a demo roll of Shakespear Supreme Super Smooth 12 lb will spool up on baitcaster to try it out. Will let you all know what happens.
Went to a seminar put on by shakespear, I'll tell you all about how good the ugly sticks are. LOL
Back to hospital tomorrow for more tests, more again next week
