Default Different baits for different temps?

me and a friend fish a very small pond. its so small its about 50 feet from bank to bank. there are some big bass in there but no bass bigger than 4 lbs. there are overhanging sticker bushes and some muck floating on the top of the water. does temp. really matter? what kind of baits do u do for different temps? ???

how do you know there isnt a bass in there over 4lbs? dont under estimate a pond, some BIG bass can come out of them. temperature definitly effects the basses feeding system, if its cold water, they wont be very aggressive, and probally wont go out of their way to get what you are throwing. you have to have a accurate cast, and a slow presentation. in warmer water, the bass will be aggressive, and will go out of their way to get your lure, IMO its alot easier to fish warm water, but we have to adjust to what we have. in warm water you can burn baits thru water and use topwaters and lures like that. in cold water i would use a jig, or finesse worm, or suspending jerkbait. also slow roll a spinnerbait.whatever you use in cold water, use it slow.

Most definitely. I'm sure you're aware that fish are cold-blooded creatures, so that means their metabolism slows way down in cold water and speeds up in warm water, and that makes a big difference in how you fish, as BF02 explained.
