Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
Thanks for the concern cajunbass, but I have already built the back deck on it, it only added roughly 25 pounds of weight to it, and hasn't effected it at all. I am currently working on the front deck now.
Before I bought the boat someone had already cut out the bench seats that were originally in the boat when it came from the factory. It has a small front deck on it already for storage, but it isn't big enough to put a seat on it, so I am adding an extra 2 feet to it to extend it out. When I am finished with the decks, it will not even have an extra 50 pounds on it. The way I designed my decks is to use the boat to actually support the wood. My back deck has 2 front legs, where the back of the wood is supported by the transom. The fron transom will have 2 legs also, the other part of the deck is supported by the front deck already on the boat. |

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
Oh, I will here is a pic of the back deck right before I finished it. Â*Only thing different now is I have a steel plate in the middle for a seat post mount, that one peice of wood is covered in carpet now, and I have hinge strips to open both sides. Â*Will post completed pics when I am finished with both decks.

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
First off I would like to say that this is my first post on here. I have been out of bass fishing for about 10 years because I wanted to try my hand at racing dirt cars. Now that I've got that out of my system, it's back to bass fishing!
My son and I just bought a 1997 Ranger 461VS this week with a Mariner 150 on it. I think that we got a sweet deal on it especially since I got it off of the original owner and the only time it was out of the garage was to go fishing. It's like brand new. It seems like Christmas time every time that I look at it! |

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
Stratos 284/Johnson 150 Fast Strike. Blk/Slvr/Red. I call her the bulldog, stratos has pretty good lines on this boat and with just me and my gear on early morning water I get around 65, any more throttle and she starts to chine walk, especially if I am back in the pack. Not super fast compared to some of the guys in my club, they run high performance boats. For example we have a gambler, allison and older bass cat all with custom high output motors. Of course the boys running the new tritons with the big 200 or 250 mercs do pretty good too. All I have to say is one day, but remeber, speed don't catch fish. ;D

Got a 92 17" Â*SCX Astro with a mariner 150. 55 lbs minn kota on the bow. Bought boat last year from a co-workers brother in a divorce sale. Was never out of garage except to fish maybe 3 times a year, he let it go of 4k before the wife could get it
