Default Scented & salt impregnated baits

Does anyone know how long a bait that was scented or salt impregnated at the factory and packaged will keep it's salt or scent after being fished regularly? I was just wondering Because I might need to get some scent and respray the bait because it is still in good condition.

It really depends on the bait. Zooms, for example, have salt but no scent, so I always add scent. Powerbait and Wave Worm products are scented so I don't add extra scent. I don't put the scent in the bag, although some folks do. I just add scent right before I throw the bait.

all my baits have scent in them and this lasts about as long as the baits do if you use them right away. If you leave them on the tackle box in a non air tight compartment the scent will be gone in short order, The salt on the other hand is part of the bait and will never go away. I salt bait sinks because it make the plastic heavier then water. my baits are loaded with salt to get them to fall and work without any added wieght. No salt baits will almost float a 3/0 hook so there it good and bad in both it depends on how you want to fish it. I make a non salt bait that I fish topwater that is killer on summer large mounths. It has a walk the dog action that drives em crazy. So it a matter of choice but I do think that the fish hold on to a salt bait a bit longer.

Fish-n-fool-
What in your opinion is the best bait from your site, what size, and what color. I am probably going to buy some from you real soon. I am just wondering which ones to get.
