favorite spinnerbaits
OK, I'm not asking what you think some good spinnerbaits are. I'm asking what type and what specific color are your favorites and if there are any particular reasons to why that is so. For example:
My favorite spinnerbait is the strike king bleeding gold shiner. I like it cause its got a sharp hook, and its a dead match for the shiners that catch so many big bass hee in fl. Plus the fact that it is tandem I really like cause it seems to get bass in stained water better than double-willow or colorado blades. |

Re: favorite spinnerbaits
My favorite is the Retriever Double Paw,1/2oz Chartruese/White, with Gold Blades. I modify it just a little. I replace the main blade with an Indiana blade, as this is my favorite, and I dip just a few(5 or 6) of the bottom skirt strands in Red dye. I use the chart/white because our lakes a here in Tn are mostly stained, and the red, well, everybody knows why I like the red.
For the days they want a smaller bait, I use the 1/4oz Retriever Compact Bleeding Paw, Hot tiger, with Red hook and gold blades. Again, replacing the willow that comes on it with a Indiana blade. |

Re: favorite spinnerbaits
Either a war eagle screaming eagle (1/2 oz) in green shiner or chart. white... or the terminator Tungsten series baits(7/16 oz) in most shad colors, chart white also...

Re: favorite spinnerbaits
I've never been too concerned with brand. I tend to use 1/4 oz. tandem blades with white or white/chartreuse skirts, although every blade color and combination and every skirt color has caught fish.
The other day I saw at Dick's (former Galyan's store) some Strike King SBs which were unpackaged and marketed by Dick's only. They seemed like a good buy at $2 and I'll probably pick up a few when bass season gets closer, and it's still far away. |
