minnows THEY WANT "MINNOWS"<only>??
I love the challenge of "artificials" ok? lol
I have been throwing for 10 days now, many types of plastics/cranks/jigs/flukes/spinnerbaits...etc ok? lol btw..<90-100 degree temps here in StLouis> I walked up to a guy whose rod was bent...asked him what he just caught that 16/1/2inch bass on and he says>>>>"Minnows son Minnows" He went on to say he fishes the same spot everyday and has caught an average of 10-12 bass ,14-17inches these past 2 weeks. I finally broke down lol bought a dozen minnows and started to catch myself.<hell the bass hit it so hard, i just lay the rod down, watch the string/rod tip, while "still" casting another rod.... "still" looking for my "artificial-bait" strike. ?????? every once in awhile i'll get a fish on a plastic worm BUT....the MINNOWS ARE WINNING!!! what Gives?lol Comments welcomed thanks oh back in April I got98bass in an adjoining lake on combination baits...NOT1minnow!!!!! |

Use a smal minnow colored cranks, weighted down if needed. Or a smaller chrome Spoon. You may not catch as many, but you should be able to catch fish on minnow imitations. Also try a bigger imitation, or fluke and work it slowly down to the bottom. Many times the bigger fish, just sit under the smaller fish, waiting for a stunned bait fish to float down Practicing with minows is fun, but won't get you to the Classic

try a yo-zuri crystal minnow, its a good imitation and should work, but prolly not as well as the real deal.
Heck the first rule of fishing: use what works second rule: Do not grab a catfish
