Default Cajun red

Just feel like repeating myself so some of the newbies can hear and not ask so many dang Q's about it. Cajun Red is a SWEEEEEEEET line. Low memory, hardly any stretch and more abrasion resistance than any line I have ever used. No joke, I was fishing on a dock today and on 14lb test I pulled up a 4ft alligator clear out of the water, then it bent the hook and was gone. Not even a scratch on the line. Just felt like emphasizing the point that as far as mono goes, you can't beat cajun red, especially for the price.

question though... i haven't tried it because i am so hooked on maxima as i have for the last 10 years. but i was reading on it and it says that from 3 feet or deeper water will make the red line virtually invisible. what happens when you fish topwater? can the fish see it or does it still work? and one more question, if red becomes invisible then what about blood trail baits...red hooks ect. i was wondering that for a while and i hope someone can help.

i think i dont bite into anything about the red.....the only reason i wanna try this stuff out is because its supose to have very low memory, and not to much strech.....for mono. i doubt it ''dissapears'' it may be alittle more hard to see then the rest of mono....but if you are giving the right presentation...then your lure shopuld be doing just that....lureing the bass to it...not having the bass wondering whats coming outta the front of it. i seriously dont think line color matters......if bass payed that much attention to detail....they would see the hooks, the split rings.......they just dont pay it that much attention to worry about buying stuff thats suposed to dissapear.

red is the first color to disapear from the color spectrum underwater. If you're fishing your blood lures deep, you ain't fishing blood, you're just fishing a lure. As long as the line is in shallow water or above, it will be visible to the fish, whether or not it will spook them, I'll leave that up to the fish to decide. If you don't buy the red leaving color spectrum underwater, you can always hop in the pool to find out.

I have had times when bass would hit lures if I had flurocarbon leader on but not with regular clear mono. I had this one time when I got this huge birdsnest in my reel so I just cut the whole thing fluro and all, and I didnt catch a single fish after with just normal mono. It might of been for some other reason but I put some flurocarbon leader on whenever theres clear water.

Nope green lines blend in with water realy well. Mono has light reflecting charistaritics(sp) that make it reflect light , so its easier to see clear mono than green mono that even when it does reflect light, it blends into the bass's typical habitat(somewat murky water, weeds).

If they don't pay that much attention then I want you to go fish table rock lake with 25lb test in the clear main lake area and I will fish 6lb Fluro and let's see who outfishes the other. ;D

i wish i could fish TR, but instead of 25lb mono....how about 20lb powerpro? stuff is just as visible. if the bass paid it that much attention...you arnt presentinmg the bait right. the bass should be lured to the lure....if they payed so much attention to detail...you might as well find clear hooks.....and clear split rings. i think the bass would notice the hooks before the line...and i use regular metal hooks.....and i dont have any trouble getting fish...im just sayin......that bass dont pay as much attention to detail as we all think. if they did they wouldnt hit anything because hooks are way more vissible then line 8)

A hook looks like a leg whereas a line looks hella weird comming out the backend of a lure. ;D

it comes out the front most cases ;D how do they know its not grass floating in the background? or antennas coming off the bait? the bait should be paying attention to the bait...not what is coming off it......line is just to small to be anything of concern.....it could be grass floating by....or fish poop.....who knows...what the bass does know is that he wants that bait 8)

Light line makes for better action= more fish bites period.

Was just wondering in respect to the question of color? Someone mentioned a weed in the background. I have never caught a bass with weeds on my lures, as far as I know. Is this just me not knowing if I had weeds or grass on a lure? I can almost always tell from the action of the lure that it has picked up something. Any thought or comments?

true....but its diameter....20lb powerpro has 6lb diameter so i just use that and get the same action. 8) but its just a personal preference. plus i fish heavy cover so a heavy line is a must.

bob, im talkin weeds in the background, not on the lure 8) and if you fish heavy cover you will be in weeds and green stuff any way...making powerpro still more distant and not much worry.... and if you fish cranks in grass you will almost always have some grass on the lure...

in a pressured lake they sure do. my catch rates when using fluro are almost double what braided line is and I only throw my braided into cover.
