Well if you're going after july, I'd say go up to some of the lakes in Canada and get away from the heat. You can catch some HUGE smallies up there along w/ pike and walleye. Its a good trip, I did it last summer.

I would have to say Lake Fork in Texas, Lake O in Florida, or Santee Cooper in South Carolina. All are great lakes to fish.

I prefer Santee Cooper just because i have been there the most.

My vote is Florida but you could always save a couple of days to stop by and fish Pickwick for some of our world famous smallmouth! ;D

the only problem w/ that is hurricane ivan's storm surge washed miles and miles of salt water up into the delta killing thoosands of bass and fresh water fish. if it were up to me i would go to florida, but if you think about the conditions we r in right now just were hit by 3 hurricanes through the state. fishing is going to be a lot different than it was. st. johns i no is completely messed up and a lot of tournyies r being canceld due to big fish kills but the fishing is still great. and there are a lot of boats off the water
