Default Weirdest catch

So whats the weirdest thing you've ever caught while on the water? For me it would have to be a huge brush pile in a foot of muck. Doesn't seem to weird, but the crazy thing is I pulled it out on 14lb test cajun red and it didn't brake. Also I was throwing a rapala once and hooked a minnow right through the middle, what are the chances of that happening?

I'm kind of like 02-nothing real wierd. I did catch a 20lb flathead cat on a jig-n-pig which was a bit of a surprise, to say the least.

I haven't cuaght anything wierd, but my wife caught a crane once. We were fishing in this local lake and a crane came flying in right in the area where the fish were at. I told her to cast toward it to scare it off. When she did, the line wrapped around it's leg and got tangled up. The crane flew off with the line around it's leg. I grabbed the rod and started reeling. when the slack got out it jerked the crane back down into the water. I gave it a little more slack and the line finally came undone and he flew off. We laughed for a good while over that one.

A chunk of long red hair twice in same spot. I didn't report it to police because they could drain or pump out the water all the way to the bottom in my favorite pond. No water=No bass. So I don't fish there at night. I don't want to see a red hair girl standing behind me while I fish.

Once her parents find out their kid got killed already, they might be more miserable than now. At least they still have a hope she could be live somewhere. And the pond is too good to give up. :-[

Now there's some logic. Not sure what kind, but some kind.

I've caught a duck. I hit a goose with the boat. Don't know it that counts. Caught a couple of carp on crankbaits. Not too strange I don't guess. Snagged the intake to an irrigation pump once. Pulled that thing and what looked like 100 yards of pipe up off the bottom with some "Spectran" braided line I was using.

Hey Falmze. I've caught a cat too, same way you're talking about, only mine hit a jig, and it didn't get hooked.

well ray, you could take some strong braid and a treble hook and go down there and find out if its a person or not. that is really freaky. i wouldnt be able to fish that pond alone. if it was me, even tho it would be freaky, my curiousity would get the best of me and i would have tried to pull it up. also, they dont drain it, they send scuba divers in to check it out. so i would report it to the police. then ypou could fish at night again ;D

fisher
kinda hard to run alot when you are 9 miles from nowhere in the middle of lake erie. trolling for salmon. this happened a long time ago mid 80's or so. all i remember going was trying to reel in a very big very very smelly fish.that and my uncle tieing a jug to the line. while the captain of the boat was calling the coast gaurd. i think i was like 12-13 then. details were scetchy for a while.-i was told later.

May not count as weirdest but most beneficial. Snagged a tree branch..... well actually a small tree. Had on my Power Pro so instead of breaking my line I ended up with a tree. Good thing is, I accumalated over twenty different lures. Cranks, spinners, hook and bobbers, you name it. Most were in decent shape. I have also hooked a car seat. 8)

I caught one chunk on crankbait and the other on spinnerbait.

Okay, I will report it to the police. Let's see what they are going to do. Â*

i caught a seahorse, it was real cute, had wrapped his tail around my sinker. was very gently released.

also caught a 2' long toy rubber snake, was about 2 miles off shore fishing 20' of water when i hooked this thing through the head. gave me one hell of a fright when i first brought it to the boat
