Just curious-what do y'all consider the most important piece of equipment to take out with you? I'm talking actual equipment, not knowlege or experience-we all know the benefit if those.
Mine would be one of these: ![]() If you don't have sharp hooks you won't land very many. |

Rebbasser,I think that there aren't any one thing as important than the rest of the equipment your using. If anything fails to work properly, your going to be in for a long day, if you can even get out on the water to fish. P N J

Everything is important. It's pretty obvious you have to take rods, reels and lures. I'd say a pliers is pretty critical. Quote:
But I caught my share of fish in those earlier years and after I started sharpening, I don't recall seeing a significant increase in my catch-to-strike ratio. |

i cant decide :-/ if i dont have one thing, then the other wont work and vice versa. but i can name 3 most important things everybody needs to fish: line, hooks, and bait.

Or you could run to the nearest body of water, dive in, and catch a fish barehanded.

To me I think your ability to reason along with your whit's.
If you are going out you got to be reasonable, stoked,in the zone, sensable, and above all else intelligent! With out these tools in you tool box you wont build crap! every trip start with a plan and it's the best planers that put the fish in the boat! A plan will help you remember things, keep your eye on the ball, prevent you from making valuable mistakes which could ultamately ruin your day of hanging fish! Keep this in mind- make a list of things that need to go in the boat, list of things you'll need to pick up on the way,(and from my experience last year and you guy's who have known me! tell some one where your going incase something happens to you!) This way you'll won't be at the dock looking at your buddy saying where's the keys! Robby. |

You can't fish with a hook and no line. You can't fish with a line and no hook. You can cast a line with your hand and retrieve whatever you tossed. I don't think only one thing is the most important. It is a combination of pieces and parts that make up the "one".

A little boat is in my opinion the most, cause it can get you in all the tight places that a 22 foot RANGER can't.
Next would be my senko tray. NO BACKLASHES, texaskayaker |
