Canyon Lake (TX.) Guide Report
CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 83 degrees; 914.73': (Flood Pool Elevation)
Largemouth are good to 4 lbs along secondary breaklines in 10'-14' on shad colored 5'-8' running crankbaits, white 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten (www.canyonlakefishing.com) spinnerbaits, watermelon Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) & watermelon/red Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) jerkbaits rigged on a 4/0 Bait Jerker Hook (www.canyonlakefishing.com). Smallmouth are good in 8'-25' of water on smoke/red Snap Back tubes, smokin' grn Devil's Tongues (www.canyonlakefishing.com) on drop shot rigs & pump/brn Terminator finesse jigs (www.terminatorlures.com) # 11 Uncle Josh pork trailers. Stripers are slow to poor. Very minimal activity, but when it comes it's at first light using white Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) & vertically jigging Pirk Minnows in 50' of water. White Bass are very good at night under lights on Swirltail grubs, Curb's crappie jigs and Lit'l Fishies. Crappie are good in 8'-15' tight to trees and brush in Curb's crappie jigs (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and live minnows.
