fishin gear
soon our boat will be ready and that means some salt water inshore fishing. i need a new pole and reel and i have put this combo 2gether: a 6'6'' ugly stik graphite rod w/ fufi guides. it will hold 25 lbs up to 225 yrds(i dont have the info in front of me now so all thats on here is straight from my head. im almost sure its all acurate.) i have found a penn reel stainless steel bearing system w/ aluminium spool. its capable of holding 25 lbs. im lookin at a $175 combination here and wondering wat everyone thinks of it.

Re: fishin gear
FYI, ugly stiks are'nt graphite, they're composite. Half graphite half fiberglass. Most Penn reels are really nice, and they're great for saltwater. If I were you I might go with a bigger rod than 6'6" depending on what you're fishing for. If you're ishing for redfish or aything bigger, I'd go with a 7' MH or H rod.

Re: fishin gear
I'm pretty sure Shakespeare offers a graphite or almost all graphite Ugly Stick. They released the Ugly Stick lights a while back and then I think they at least tried to offer some "Ugly Sticks" which were not at all composite.

Re: fishin gear
ye-no no bad hula. it also depends on were he is fishing. i know he said inshore but that is still a lot of water. you have canals, flats, mangroves, ect. so I would personaly go w/ the 6'6 m-mh thats what my boss tells me is the best ( my boss at lovedays bait and tacke in new symerna) i go out there quit often good place to fish. i take my kyake out there a lot and go out edgewater and go towards browns bay and nail lots of reds that way. bam kicked it up a little for ya's
