I use mostly mono. I prefer low stretch like P-line or Maxima. There are tons of good lines out there though.

braid is what ya tie your boat to the dock with.

Fireline for everything except topwater, and cranks, and spinnerbaits. I use mono either Trilene XL or Stren usually for those applications. I do sometimes use my spinnerbaits on Fireline also. I must say that YOU need to find what you like. Everyone has there favorites, and will say it's the greatest(myself included). When you do find the right stuff stick with it, and just try some new stuff periodically. Don't try to test out 3 or 4 different kinds at once. Some lines, such as braids, and fused line, usually take some casting to break them in, so keep that in mind when giving those a shot.

I realize you are new here, and appreciate the questions. However you don't need to post the same question on 2 different boards Keep asking and we'll try to keep answering.

Well after I untie my boat, Ill spool up 30# power pro. May not be the best but for right now it works for me. It does have good sensitivity and I havent had a fish snap it yet! 8)

"Evenin' Ma'am." <tips Stetson> Works every time.

For fishing, I'm with Zooker. The only braid I've got is 1/4 nylon, and I tie the boat with it. For fishing I use Bass Pro Shops "Excel" mono.

Stren Flouro.
10 for cranks,17 for worms and 20 for jigs.
Stren extra strength for spinnerbaits, top water, and any bait (Rattle -traps) that require a reaction bite.
On this line I use 14 lb test. Occasionally I may go to 17 lb test. No problems so far , been using Stren for several years.
