I've caught several bass right around the 8lb mark. All of them came on either a junebug/red flk trick worm, or a 7.5 in red shad culprit, t-rigged.

PNJ,
My 2 biggest fish was a tie at 7.2 lbs. One was caught on the crankbait, the other one on the worm.

6" black Zoom Lizard. Which was given to me by Lizards. ;D In fact I caught it in a pond right next to his house which to my knowledge he hasn't fished once.

Yesterday I went out for the first time in about 20 years and the first cast out I caught a 7 pound largemouth. I used the dropshot method with one of the Assault plastic worms I got free with my subscription to Bassmaster Mag. My second cast out I used a Plastic minnow and caught a 3-4 pound smallmouth. Today not even a bite.

i caught a 4 pounder out of a little pond by my cousins house on a buzzbait that looked like a overgrown fly. i lost that lure when fishin' in the delaware river. hooked something big!!!!!!!!!! Broke the line. >

Mine was on a 10 inch black with red fleck Lizard, it was 8lbs 7ozs, second was on a 5inch watermellon grub it was 7lbs 10ozs.
