Jordan, What makes this jig any better to swim than a regular jig ? I have got to tell you I think its just another product for us to buy.I don't swim a jig very often, spring and summer if I do. The summer time swimming them around docks that you can't get under sometimes works, you have got to hit the dock on the retrieve and keep it riding high so they don't get a good look at it as its swimming by. They will know its there and hunt it down. I hope this helps. P N J

I haven't found a production jig that fits my needs for a swimming jig. Here is what i look for in one.....
1. light wire hook A heavy wire hook doesn't penetrate as easy when flipping it doesnt matter, but when the bait is moving fast you need the hook to penetrate easily 2. Lighter or at least less bristles in the fiber guard This one i can fix on a flipping jig to modify it, but its nicer when it comes right. 3. Head design, i like one thats more hydrodynamic and more realistic, almost like a detailed spinnerbait head. Problem is no one makes what i want, i have some friends who make homemade jigs that are going to get as close as they can without making a new mold. If they get it right i will be on here touting their awesome swimming jigs lol. |
