I got no complaints with BooYah jigs. I like Picasso jigs as far as the best jig made, but other people will have a different opinion. ;D P N J

Stone or Arkie Jigs. Usually the YUM or Strike King (floating) plastic is more important for me though!

Were you talking about me on that last part? Well I promised myself I would refrain from arguing about what jig I think is the best. [glow=red,2,300]Ultamite[/glow]ly it may not even matter which jig you use. Whether it's [glow=red,2,300]rattling [/glow] or not may not even matter. [glow=red,2,300]Jig[/glow] is a jig. [glow=red,2,300]By[/glow] and large everyone has their favorite. Most brands will catch a [glow=red,2,300]lunker[/glow] any how. So P-n-J I'm not gonna post cuz like you said everyone has their favorite [glow=red,2,300]lure[/glow]. Bassfisher02. This is what every message would look like if you had your secret decoder ring. Just send $19.95 plus $3.00 shipping and handleing and one will be rushed to your doorstep. i like the stone jig,,but,i happen to have maybe 100 or so jig heads that have lost skirts,so i've been making skirts and using up those old jig heads.haven't noticed any that worked better than others.if your flippin into brush piles and blowdowns the only consideration(IMO)is fall speed.otherwise like IL said a jig is a jig.

I've had great luck with Strike King Pro-model 3/8 oz in blue and Arkie rattlin' jigs in black/blue.
For river fishing smallmouth,I like the Bitsy bug or arkie hair jigs. |

I like Pj's flipping jigs, very well built jigs, stand up jig head, comes through weeds great, nice color assortment, and razor sharp wide gap hooks.

a jig is a jig is a jig right?
I find that most that want to catch a fish on a jig are reluctant to throw in the "heaviest of cover" in fear of hanging up or cant make the cast accurately. 9 times out of 10 the bass is near the cover (take note : on muddy water days they hug tight to cover like wood, easier to pinpoint). Back in the day the guys basically showed me dif types of jig head , one in particular they call a "horse head" style that made it threw trees easier than other types. They also taught me of stand up jigs that present the trailer up in a 45 degree angle for ease of biting. The hair jig for faster drop and more compact presentation. Once I found out about rattles I had to learn a new curve, for me , it works best in murky water, but if the water is super clear, I avoid using a rattle. For years I put glass tubes with rattles in almost all my plastics and they really worked for calling the fish in, esp if your fishing rip rap for small mouth, I guess the clickin of the rattle imitates a craw 8) |
