Caught while fishing on bottom
While we were catfishing on bottom, both me and my husband each caught a blk bass with dead shad wormed on. Both were right at 14 inches in length. We were sitting about 30 ft. away from each other his fish had a very pretty bluish color to it and mine was more of a greenish color, both caught about 15-20 minutes apart. I guess the water was moving enough to bounce the bait around.

Re: Caught while fishing on bottom
the smallest twitches of the bait regardless where the twitch came from, line, pole, wind, current, etc. can provoke a bass bite, especially using a bait they already eat alive that will have the same smell and appearance. Although there are times they'll eat anything from chicken liver to salami and even bologna. Course those aren't the best baits to use but they've worked for others on rare occasions.

Re: Caught while fishing on bottom
I was catfishing on a small pond we used to own and was using chicken liver. When I reeled in the bait to recast, I small largemouth hit it just like a topwater lure. That was the first bass I had ever seen, much less caught. It was quite a sight because I was shocked and nearly fell over. I didn't know what I had!
