Default All Star rod question...Maybe Rebbasser?

Okay, being the nut that I am I just picked up a couple of All Star rods from the classifieds over at BFHP. Well, I don't really know much about them other than they were a decent deal for the money I paid, 2 rods $30 shipped. So, one is a something or other made in China (I'll check on the model name) and the other one is a Select Series M Baitcasting rod. Anyone know when All Star made this line (I guess I assumed the didn't anymore because the guy had these in his closet)? Just curious as to the quality of blank and such. For my purposes it looks like it will suit me perfectly!

Yeah, ebook, shakespeare bought them out last year and some of them are now being made in China. I think the one I got you was one of the new model Classics, and there are several rods with the AllStar name that are not listed on the AllStar website, so I think they have been making some lower end rods now that for marketing purposes carry the AllStar name. Even so, I have not seen a cheap quality one yet.

Yep, I think you are right Reb, the one you got me was one of the new Classics. I was just trying to figure out what this Select Series relates to in terms of the type of blank, etc... I'll keep checking! By the way Reb, thanks again for shipping that rod up here to the land of ice and frozen fishies!

Our local Dick's Sporting Goods has the All Star Select Series for 29.95. I looked at them but they didn't have any MH.
