Re: Rattles
I assume you mean a glass or a plastic rattle that you insert into a plastic worm, or some other such bait. If that's the case, I don't know of any sure fire way to get them to stay in. You might try a drop of quick drying glue, but that would probably melt the plastic. Most "super glue"s will melt a lot of plastics. Rather they will a plastic worm or not, I don't know.
Anybody ever tried that? Any other type of glue wouldn't dry fast enough to do any good I don't think. The only other thing I couldl suggest is to stick the rattle as far up in the bait as you can get it. |

Re: Rattles
If in a worm, Pro's Super glue will seal the hole OK and will probably work. If he's using the rattle in a tube, using a piece of worm inserted after the rattle, then a wide gap hook texposed will hold everything in nicely.

Re: Rattles
They used to make a little gizmo, that was basically a little soldering iron, that ran on a single AA battery. It was originally sold to repair plastic worms that had gotten torn up. Later they changed the marketing to emphasize using it to burn/cut braded line. I don't know if they still make it or not, but that would work to "weld" the plastic back together. You could do the same thing with a bic lighter, and a paper clip.

Just hold the paperclip with a towel. The moving heat in that metal hurts like a b*tch when it reaches your fingertips. |

Re: Rattles
Sorry guys. Had a brain fart there. ;D
I meant to put in that anything that would keep the heat transfer from reaching your fingers. I must have had towels on my mind at the time I wrote that post. ;D ;D |

Re: Rattles
I sort of figured if you didn't have enough sense to use something to hold the paper clip, you'd figure it out pretty quickly.

Re: Rattles
That item that CajunBass mentioned is called a "worminizor" or "wormizer" or something like that.
Had one, loaned it out, don't have one now. Go figure. |

Re: Rattles
Tell me about it Zook. I sold a guy in my club a David Fritts casting rod. No money so far. I'm may just speak to him about this. He knows exactly who he is and is a member of this site. He used to use the term "C". But he changed it to B**********R.
Ya got that B**********R ?!!!! |

Re: Rattles
Not to fear, I've got one his shotguns !
If he can go without that gun then I can go without my rod. Heck the gun is worth alot more than the rod. I feel like the Enforcer will read this. Bassnman30 |

Re: Rattles
You better believe that gun is worth more than that glass rod. I thought the rod was on loan since it hasn't helped me catch you in the points.

Re: Rattles
Too late to worry about catching me now !
The season is "kaput". We'll have to see about next year. Note; That rod is a top of the line piece of angling equipment. Maybe it's not the rod , hint, hint. |
