That is what mine came with and it works just fine. I don't see a reason to go to a three blade, so i am leaving it as is.

ZOOKER,

A three bladed prop pulls better in the wind and is a little faster than a two bladed prop. The drawback is that it pulls your batteries down quicker as it works the motor harder.

ZOOKER,

Take a file and smooth the nicks out of the old one, it will be fine.

I've never used a 3 blade, but I used to have a 4 blade "Ninja" prop on a MG. As Jack said that thing would kill a battery in a heartbeat. The two blades seem to give better all-round performance. Both my T/M's came with 3 blades. I took them off and kept them as sparess.

ZOOKER,
You do not have to file the blades until the notches and nicks are gone, just file the edges of the blade at an angle until the bent over part of the nicks and notches are smooth. Why buy a new prop that will look just like the old one the first time you hit a stump or rock. You only need to smooth out the blades to keep them from giving off strange vibrations and scaring the fish.

Zooker, The three blade gives you more trolling power, but it sucks in weeds, It can't clean the weeds worth a hoot. If you got a motorguide, I will look in the shed to see if I still have it, your more than welcome to have it if I do.I had it on a 62# thrust trolling motor, maybe it wasn't a powerful enough size to be weedless. That reminds me I have got to machine a peice to help cut the weeds on my Minnkota, It loads up bad with weeds. PNJ,just tape a utility knife blade to your trolling motor.set the blade so it barely touches the prop layin flat on the motor housing.wrap some electrical tape or tommy tape around it a few times and your good to go.just have to remember to change it once in a while.

Tom, I was going to build a peice to hold a utility knife blade or a peice of hacksaw blade.I was wondering how the blade flex when you r blade hits an object or the bottom ? Well, I will see what happens. P N J

P N J,

I used to use epoxy to hold the blade to the TM and also to the big motor gear case to cut any line that I picked up before it could get into the seals and ruin them, thereby letting water into the gear case.

Never had a two blade prop. The MG comes out with a three blade version. They also have a 4 blade, in the event of grassy coditions. Since there's not alot of grass in this area, I would recommend a 3 blade. More power not bad on batteries. Make sure that your batteries are in good condition. Keep them charged, and they should last.

Today went over to a friends house and he had a "special" order three blade prop that he states will get alot more power from the trolling motor. It looks a little different, but is supposedly alot more productive than the origional three blade model.
Fill you in more as I attempt to get one.

TOM,
Kipawa is one of Kevins sponsors. Look in the advertisers section for a full add and phone number.
