Newest Quote from Uncle Homer
This is from the December 2004 Bassmaster issue. I love Uncle Homer ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Question:" How many bass over 10 pounds have you caught, and what did you catch them on. " Answer: " The total is five, and all came on a 6-inch black sinking lizard with no weight, lazed over the bottom. " Now again what's my FAVORITE BAIT ???, and what's my FAVORITE TECHNIQUE ??? All I can say is great minds think alike Lizards |

Re: Newest Quote from Uncle Homer
REB,
I think everyone is suffering from a little cabin fever, I know I am. It warmed up to 45 degrees here yesterday, so I tried a little walleye fishing. Caught ONE (1) 6 inch white perch. It is raining this morning, so duck hunting is out fo the question. (Ducks don't like to fly in rain) We are just coming off a full moon, so duck hunting has been in the crapper for the last week. Supposed to get colder and snow tomorrow. Shotguns are all cleaned and oiled, empty shells are all loaded and boxed, car is washed and in the garage. (Cow's gone dry and the hens won't lay, fish quit bitin' last saturday, I et' the last of the pork and beans and tore a hole in my old blue jeans. Jes' cain't depend on nuthin" JackL |

Re: Newest Quote from Uncle Homer
jackl ducks do fly during the rain-they are water proff- it is the hardcore duck man that hunts them then. un like the fair weather hunter jackl appears to be. water here is 54 and it was 70 today no wind i caught 8 largemouth bass. although it was a tad brisk running down the lake this morning.the car is washed?? why birds come from 100 miles away just to crap on my gold truck.

Re: Newest Quote from Uncle Homer
I always wondered why when it rains weathermen say "It's a good day to be a duck" or something along those lines.
I was always under the impression that the expression "It's a good day for ducks" related to hunting ducks. When the weather is bad, cold, raining, windy, etc., ducks can't find a safe, comfortable place to set, so they move around more, giving the hunter more opportunity to kill them. It's the bluebird days that ducks like. They don't have to move around much, and the hunters doze off in their blinds. |
