How are spinnerbait blades sized? I was looking to order some blades but did not know what size to get.

Re: spinnnerbait blade size
JAW,
Look in the BPS catalog. They have the sizes of spinnerbait blades of all types and sizes. There is a page that shows the outline of each size. JackL |

The smaller the number, the smaller the blade.

Re: spinnnerbait blade size
JackL which catalog is it in and on what page?
PNJ I clicked on spinnerbait blades then clicked on a type of blade. Then near the top of the page it says Click Here for Spinnerbait Component Size Compatibility Chart. I clicked on it. Is it just talking about a tandem blade spinnerbait? Being the dummy I am I can't figure it out. |

Re: spinnnerbait blade size
The lead blade or shaft blade in willowleafs are sizes 3, 3.5 ,4 and the trail blade is size 4, 4.5 ,5. If you like a tandem spinnerbait use like a #2 colorado blade with a #4.5 willowleaf. In colorado blades use like a #3 & #5. Nothing is carved in stone.alot of times on 3/4 oz. spinnerbaits I use a #4 lead willowleaf with a #6 trail willowleaf blades that are painted chartreuse for smallmouths.it looks too big for smallmouth, but it catches alot of fish.I hope this helps, P N J

Re: spinnnerbait blade size
water clarity and cloud cover are what i use to choose my blade colors. clear water with no cloud cover. go gold on gold.

I really like to downsize on my spinnerbaits.I fish shallow, heavy cover. You can catch big fish on this setup.Caught a guesstamated 7 pounder on one a month ago.
