The rare times I happen to try and use a large worm ( 10" or bigger ), I just t-rig it like any other worm, but all my bass hit the top of the tail and dont get the hook. Am i rigging it right, and just not getting lucky or something?

If it's big enough then the fish will get the whole thing.

Sometimes I fish with the Hannon snakes and if they miss it, the come back for it most of the time if I leave the bait motionless. So if you are ever fishing them weightless, just hold still, even for up to a minute.

bigger the bait the long you have to wait on the hook set.. i when use 8" senko worms i give a 5-6 count minimum before the hook set.10"-12 " worms. i give something in the 4-5 count range.-i don't really count- now small worms. no waiting just nail it..

I fish lots of 10" plus baits. My belief is that if a fish has the balls to eat a bait that big, you don't have to wait. If your line is moving, set the hook. Typically, I get more consistent bites and a better hook up percentage on larger baits than smaller. No need to let them "swallow" it, they ain't called largemouths for nothing.

My guess is that the bigger fish have not found the bait, but you have smaller one's trying to eat it.
