				 | OK, I'm sold

Flyrod and I hit our local electrics only lake this AM-launched about 5. We headed for the dam eying bright white flashes in the west caused by thunderstorms. No thunder and they stopped pretty quick, so we figured we were good to go. I started throwing a 3:16 Mission Fish swimbait but no takers. So, I decided to switch to a soft stickbait. The first binder I grabbed had Senkos in it-the original. Rigged up a watermelon/pearl laminate 5 incher weedless and weightless and threw it up next to the bank. Started to pull, it felt heavy, so I set the hook-nice little dink. Next cast-same thing. Third cast-same thing, except this one felt a little bigger. Pulled it out into open water and KNEW it was a little-make that a LOT bigger. Played tug-of war for a few minutes and I lipped this: We figured about 6-my digital scale was all over the board so we guesstimated, and yes, I realize my eyes are closed -saw that after she was safely back in the lake. I managed 13 total, and all but 1 came on that watermelon/pearl Senko. Threw an identical Yum Dinger amd no takers and started catching them again when I switched back, so I'm sold-at least today the Senko outproduced my usual Tikis and Dingers. Flyrod had a good day as well, including this toad : Actually, he did have a nice 3 pounder on his favorite ringworm-I just posted that to show you guys that wonder about bait size that even tiny fish will hit big baits-this particular one is a Super Spook Jr. He ended the day with 11. All in all it was a good day, and I learned that all they hype about Senkos isn't just hype. They flat catch fish.
