05 Targa 185 WT
I bought a 05 left over this past April. Love the boat, have had only minor problems with speed and tach. I ran into a serious problem the other day with the front live well intake which is located on the starboard underside. It seems that when we bring the boat onto the trailer, the intake is dead inline with the trailer bunk. It broke unknowingly to me and I damn near sank the boak the next trip out. The deler handled the sitution very well and had the boat fixed within a day. I call tracker to ask why there was a $2.00 PVC elbow and not an aluminum fitting, and why they rigged the boat and trailer so that they laid across one another. Has anyone had this problem and what was the fix. I would like to find a aluminum fitting to replace the PVC.

get a brass one it is stronger and will likely wear out less.. i have no idea where you would find a metal intake best guess would be west marine..

Thanks
Zooker, I have been warned about mixing any other metal product, ie. bass, stainless, with the aluminum hull.

You really shouldnt have any problems using brass or stainless. DO NOT use carbon steel. If you use the boat in brackish water corrosion will occur. I would definatley do as zook stated and find a brass fitting that will fit. You might also look at the possibility of rerouting the inlet to the rear of the boat and eliminate any further problems.

I will look into the brass fitting. I am picking up the boat today along with the broken PVC part to see if I can match it up.
