Default three styles to try on the Dragon

Being that I have not fished it for a while I will assume that one of three styles will put fish in the boat.

1. wormin' and split shot rigs
2. topwater ( 1 in 1 million chance of that)
3. cranking..

so I will prepare for all three. Six rods

two bait casters with med depth crank and deep crank.
two spinning rigs with texas rigg and a split shot rig
one spinning rod with a pop r
one spinning rod with just a 5/0 hook for toad or wacko worm.

I am traveling light this time with only a small surf bag for my tackle.

I wonder how it will turn out. ???

Sorry Zook ...it is OK I call you Zook, ain't it? The Dragon is a tidal cypress swamp that is part of the Cheasapeake Bay.

Access is over a one foot deep flat a mile and half long. So I use a jet boat and it is all a no wake area.

The crankin was the ticket for the 58 degree water. Add to that a major cold front and tides twenty toes higher than normal and you have a recipe for skunk fishin..

My fishing buddy and I got three fish all day.. I got two on the clown crank bait and got one on a ring worm.

He would not switch up from his spinnerbait an he tried it for six hours.. And when he did switch to the worm it came thru for him.

So what did I do wrong?

Or did I do any thing wrong and just had a tough day.. the best day I have had in a long time not guiding any one.

See my report.
