Default Couldn't Hook 'Em...

Just couldn't hook 'em today boys. Still gettin' over a 15F cold front so I figured the bass would be deep, 20' to be exact...

Dad started out throwing the good 'ole PNJ, only to complicate matters by hooking and losing two fish.

Well, I see my 12-pound Florclear held up well. Third cast my Florclear leader done snapped in two. There goes a Picasso Worm Weight and my tube!

RE-RIG!

This time I went with that new-fangled 'Coffee Tube'. It worked, although it wasn't what it was cracked up to be. Hung two fish, lost 'em both after a three second fight.

Just couldn't get 'em today, although they were hittin'. Guess that cold front still had 'em slow.

Any tips you'd give me to follow-up my tube? Should I wait longer for a hook-set? Slow-down? Change-color?

Did you see the fish? Were they bass? Sometimes small cats can pick up and run with part of the bait. Same thing with small bass too. Bluegill/sunfish usually grab the tentacles and run with them too.

Didn't see the fish, 3d, but they were definitely large bass or pike. I layed into one with my MH Low Rider and that rod doubled like nothing. Fought 'em for about three seconds and she popped.

Cats will fool you. They'll double you over and then let the bait loose. You got cats in that body of water?

Yes, but it's a rare sight. I've never seen one caught.
