To further muddy the water... What we refer to as a "Bass" (LMB, SMB, Spot/Kentucky, Coosa, Guadalupe, and so on,) is not a bass at all. Nope, they aren't. They are all Sunfish...same clan as Bluegill, Redear, Crappie, and the like. The only true bass found in freshwater are the Striper, Hybrid Striper, White Bass (AKA "Sandy"), Yellow Bass, and any other sub-species as may exist. Can you imagine Mark "Madman" Zona, or his brother, Ari ( ... ) announcing "Today, we're at Lake Toxicity for the final day of the Certain Species Of Sunfish Elite Tournament!" Somehow, they ARE "Bass" to me and ever they shall so be. Lancer6 |

Would ya believe I caught one of those small rock bass today flippin a 4" Yamamoto Kreature bait T rigged on a 5/0 wide gap worm hook. And that little bugger engulfed the whole thing. The best hit I had all day, lol. If those little rock bass could grown to 8 pounds, I'd be fishing for them all the time. |
