Well i am a fairly avid reader spanning from scifi to fantasy and a lot of other things currently I'm reading the gunslinger series from stephen king and am 4 books into it . I am looking for ideas for something i might not have heard of or something that you have read and liked . I'll pretty much read anything that can keep me turning the pages thanks in advance for any answers . Authors i have read and liked Dean Koontz , R.A. Salvatore , Jack L Chalker , King , Charles Sheffield , and many others .
Jim

After Dachau By Daniel Quinn - It's got kind of a sci-fi bend to it,, with a little socio-political commentary and philosophy. It also has one of the best literary twists ever... The kind of twist you need to go back and read like three times to make sure you get it!

Nothing by Carmac McCarthy I hate his stuff.
Mark Chldress has some good stuff. Grisham's earlier stuff is good. His last book the Appeal ticked me off and the Testament wasn't that good either. Playing for Pizza by Grisham was OK...A Painted house was very good. The Tender Bar by J.R. Moehringer is a good book. Jean Shepard and Garrison Keillor are funny guys. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen was a good book....and of course The Count of Monte Cristo, To Kill a Mockingbird and Les Miserables

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.
Flanner O'Conner short stories. Or if you want a ****load of material, Moby Dick - its a great, interesting read that veers off into places just like you were having a conversation with some guy in a earrly 19th century whaling bar.

If you like Dean Koontz, then I would read his Odd Thomas books (if you havent already) The first 3 were great and I am reading the 4th one now.

Michael Chriton "Jurassic Park". Outnumbers the movie twofold.

Crichton is just a phenominal author. I prefered Andromeda Strain, Sphere, Congo, and Next over Jurrasic though

Look up Harry Turtledove. He crosses over fom SciFi to fantasy to alternate history. I recommend the World at War series and Guns of the South, especially.

Try David Baldacci if you haven't read any of his books. I like his stories and the fact that when he writes about specific places in the DC area they are actually there. Restaurants, buildings, hotels, etc he writes about exist. I'd classify his stuff as action adventure.
If you want some humor then read Dave Berry. He also writes some fiction too. Finally you've got to check out the stuff written by J. Annarino. Good stuff. Well written. Some of it a little too much fluff but reads easily and is so informative. |

If you would like to read something on the lighter side and have a good laugh doing so I highly reccomend Patric McMannis. He has published many books full of short stories that every outdoorsman would enjoy. Many are of his younger years growing up in the great outdoors, his adventures "misadventures" with fishing, hunting, camping, pets and so on.

Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, Clive Cussler, and if you like westerns it's tough to beat Louis L'Amour.
