Default Flooding

Hey guys, since Photobucket just Un-crapped-out on me, I though I'd show you a few pics of the flooding we had just before the 4th of July. And a couple pics of our pond for those who wanted to see it. It looks bigger, but its only 1/2 an acre.

Here's the whole pond, at normal water level. We've got a raft in the middle without a ladder...

Here's our front yard after the flooding. We have a french drain in between the our yard and the neighbors.

Can't tell, but there's a lot of water in the boat.

This chair was at the edge of the water before the rain.

you can see cattails, and bushes and weeds where the edge of the pond is at normal water levels.

Here's the pond from my "tree" fort thingy. You can see the rocks that were around the edge of the pond, now underwater.

And the empty 5 acre lot next to ours. It's been full of weeds for 10 years, and the guy never builds a house, and he won't sell.

And a nice sunset from tonight.

One of the ponds I learned in used to flood a little like that.

In the corner, above the normal waterline there was a depression, about 1 foot deep. When the water came up, I use to nail several fish each time throwing a spinnerbait through that depression.

I see some good cover that was submerged for you in those pics. Bass get kinda curios and, if the water level hasnt shocked them too much they will get up real skinny and look around when water does that.

When I walked around the pond, the little fry and stuff were up swimming around in the grass. I've never caught a bass out of my pond bigger than 10-11", too many of them, not enough food. Also, when I was walking around, I saw a few of our grass carp (they are sterile so they won't breed) eating the grass up in the shallows, they are very skiddish and swam away before I could even get close.
