Default Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine

Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine

Hello Everybody,

Galations 3: Verses 23-26;

But before Faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Wherefor the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by Faith.

But after Faith has come, we are no longer under the school master. For Ye are all the children of God by Faith in Christ JESUS.

SAM RAYBURN;

Well the air temps. have been really hot and the water temps. have been running about 86 degrees. The morning bite is the best and again right before dark. The early bite has been really good until about 11:00 am. with Bass feeding on shad and bream around the pads and grassy areas of the Lake.

Water has been slightly stained in the creeks and mostly clear from Mid-Lake to Needmore Point.

Some really Large Bass have come on Frogs worked in the Lilly Pads up to 8 lbers. Using Spro and Stanley Ribbits worked in and around the Pads. I have heard the stories about the 10 or better lbers. that pulled off after a strong fight in the pads. Be sure and use 50-65lb. braided line in the pads.

Peppergrass and Hydrilla in the deeper edges before the breaklines or drop offs have been holding some quality Bass hitting Texas and Carolina rigs ole Monster Worms in red Bug and Plum Apple and Plum. Zoom flukes in Watermelon Red on the Carolina rigs have been getting bit as well. Try the new E2 Biats Bobtail Lizard. My e-mail has changed so make a note it is donmat@windstream.net. E-mail me to book a trip in or call 903-478-2633 or 903-724-1203.

LAKE PALESTINE; Water temps still about 86 degrees. Water is a little clearer in the North and really good spinnerbait bite going right now and shallow running crankbaits in shad colors. I use the Nichols custom made Shattered Glass patterned double willow leaf in Chartruse and White. It is deadly in slightly off colored water. Bass are feeding heavily on shad in the creek channels or deeper ditches that run back in the coves.

Texas rigged creature baits in emerald ruby and green orange have been catching some real quality bass worked around grass or wood cover. Work along the creek channels edges and use your electronics.These same baits worked around boat houses will catch also.

Carolina rigged french fries in watermelons as well as E2Baits new Bobtail Lizard, and DD22 in chartruse bellied patterns worked around the Main Lake Points have been working also. Look for schooling Bass.
