So heres what I got so far: Johnny Morris Elite Reel 6:4:1 W/ BPS Pro Qualifer Rod 6'6 med heavy Abu G. Revo SX 6:4:1 (highly recommended by members) W/ Berkley 6'6 lighting rod What I plan on getting next...And let me know what you guys think. Bass Pro Shops Pro qualifer reel 7:1:1 W/ 7' heavy, LTX Carrot stick it will be used as a pitching setup. I did my homework on this rods and from what Ive read they seem to be no joke 150 and you get a life time warranty, the sensitivy of a g.loomis or better and a rod that weighs 3.2oz . Can you ask for much more?

Looks good to me. All you would need then is a spinning setup and you'd be set. |

MoJo, I personally like sticking with a particular brand when it comes to reels. I think you'll learn them inside and out and makes maintenence alot easier. I also heard (and others on here will know more than I) that BPS takes bids from reel manufacturers on reel contracts. These contracts usually last 3-5 years, so after the contract expires the manufacturer quits making them...and the parts. So if you have to order parts it can get tough. I was told that by a reel "mechanic", not sure if it's true, but i makes sense to me.

I used to use only quantum reels, but now I like to have a varity to see what I like best and Doc as far as spinning goes I dont really use'em. But I have about 3 other set ups for other apps, but these are just my new ones.

I'm not much of a fan of them either to be honest. But they do have their uses, light baits, drop shot, skipping (this one I believe is a must unless your an expert with a baitcaster). Knowing how to skip a lure more than 4 times accuratly and consistantly is my goal with spinning equipment.

I can get 1 or 2 skips with a baitcaster (with a possible backlash) This is my skipping goal, and I believe it is only doable with a spinning setup. Check out the 1:20 mark in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QEtt...eature=related |
