Defining the 2nd amendment
Now, due to the fact that I do not live where I can hunt, I have made a choice not to own a gun. That being said, i think this video sums up why we should be allowed to have them..

as a owner of several guns i really liked that video. it is rare to find an advocate for guns who's story is told from that perspective.

After listening to that broad's story, I feel the urge to go out and apply for a hand gun.

That's Cool!... and just the other day a homeowner shot and killed an intruder, and there were no charges filed on the homeowner...
Thankfully we are still a red state when it comes to our 2nd amendment rights. |

the one thing to remember when shooting an intruder. NEVER shoot them in the back, if they aren't facing you they probobly aren't posing a fatal threat to you.

I took a few criminal justice classes in college and learned one valuable lesson...always shoot to kill. If you don't you'll be in court the rest of your life. Also, the teacher was an ex MS deputy who claimed that if you shot a man who was carrying anything other than a gun (knife, bat, etc.) you may go to jail. He argues that a good attorney will claim that it was not self defence since you had the superior weapon. He was an ex deputy from MS remember, so he knows the southern way of handling things...his advice was to keep an old unregistered gun around case the recently deceased needs one to hold when the cops get there.

Quote:
My dad's best friend Ricky, like an uncle to me, would disagree. He was in a feud with a neighbor, and one day after gettin back from hunting, he saw Bobby (his neighbor) walking towards his house on their dirt road. He laid his rifle against a tree and went to go talk to him. Walked over, apparently things got heated, and Bobby shot him 5 times through his coat. Ricky had a knife on his belt. There were no witnesses. When Ricky's brother found him, he was fixin to die, and couldn't talk any more, so nobody knows the real story. In court, Bobby said Ricky said he had a knife, and was "gonna cut him", and "kick his ***" and he felt threatened. He played self defense with a good lawyer, and got off totally free. On the idea of shoot to kill, I 100% agree. My dad always taught me not to pull somethin I wasn't ready to use. I don't want to kill nobody, so I keep an axe handle in my truck. Pulled it one time, and I'm lucky nobody shot me. I wasn't thinkin at all, and when I got back in the truck, my buddy goes, "Dang, I'm glad we're both still alive." It's a crazy world.......

I think what the teacher was saying is that if Ricky had lived and got a lawyer, that lawyer could have claimed that Ricky only had a knife where as the other guy had a gun...plus the other guy shot him 5 TIMES!!! I'm not saying the teacher is right...but OJ got off because he bent his thumb so the glove wouldn't fit...so who knows!!
