				 | take the book and chunk it...

the weather was cold, overcast, and raining...the water temps were in the 46-48 degree range.. we caught fish though.. since hydrilla is a potomic native i just had to take him up into an area that had muddy water and currant.-just to make him feel at home- ... i had one hook up but lost him.. hydrilla sets the hook on a beast.. he fought him 30-45+mintues on 6 pound line ,and landed the striper. though my digital scale batteries were dead at the time.. the offical weight once i got him home was 10lbs 4onces..dam he looked bigger we tried several more spots with nothing to speak of.. then in the high rent district.. where we started to really get into the bass.. me catching a "high flying" 4ish pound bass. and hydrilla picking off a TOAD!! which looked 7+lbs easy.. we both caught several more bass each.. the thing that was blowing our minds were #1 catching bass in cold muddy water.#2 was the strikes were massive. like you would find on aggressive bass in 70 degree water. normally large bass in cold water are lethagic critters.. i personally have never seen a largemouth do a very smallie style back flip jump. 3 feet out of the water like that 4ish pound bass did... oh yeah there is pictures which when i get them i post them.. zooker

the thing that amazed me was the 6 pound izor line did not have a spot in it from the stripers teeth -the fish swallowed the whole bait- like mono would have after a fight like that.. i may have to try some of that line -it wont be 6 pound test either.. zooker
