I am lookin into pickin up a new jig rod.. I never really fish anywhere that I would find the need to flip.. I usually tend to lean towards St Croix rods but im tryin to see what other options I have. For the most part im kinda thinking a 7' MH St croix Avid, But on the other hand i need to stop blowing money on expensive rods, lol.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Nate |

I'm using 7'6" H XPS Pro Qualifier. I use it for 3 things, flipping, frogging and football in deep. Good luck with your search. |

I am gonna have to stick to a 7' mh i think. I cant fit anything larger then that in my car unless i stick it from the passenger foot well threw the back and out the drivers side rear window.. haha.. and for some reason i feel that would be a recipe for disaster. lol

Quantum Superlite PT 7' MH. While probably not the very lightest out there (when comparing to G-loomis or Daiwa Steez) it is definitely the most sensitive rod I've held to date. Plus it looks cool. |

Mine is a 7 mh St Croix and aAbu Record 60 reel. 50 lb spider braid and a 3/4 oz brown Stanley jig with Gene Larew craw in blue with fire claws. I sometimes get crazy and use a black blue 3/4 oz Stanley with a brown orange claw Gene Larew craw.. but only if I feel a little crazy. Capt Mike

The rod I've been using and LOVE is a Gander Mountain Guide Series rod. It's a 7 footer with MH action, IM7 graphite blank. It's teamed with a Garcia Revo SX reel. I dream at night of pitching with that outfit. You don't hear much about Gander Mountain Guide Series rods but I really like mine.

Check out Cabela's XMLti rods. 25 yr warranty, can pick them up for less than $100 at certain times of the year. A lot of rod for the $$.
