Help with Outboard Upgrade
I have a bass tracker 1999 Pro team 175 with a maximum HP rating of 75hp. Currently I have a 25hp 2cycle that runs 22mph WOT. I want to go faster but am curious how much faster a 60hp or a 75hp 2cycle would push my boat. Also, is this too heavy for my boat? I did a custom job and put two optimas along with the cranking battery under the deck in the front by pulling up the plywood and putting it back down. This levels out the boat and allows for more storage space. Now 100lbs that was in the rear is now in the front of the boat. My motor is 112 lbs. Im not sure how much a 2 cycle 60 or 75hp weights but im guessing between 250 and 300lbs.

i would think it would be fine as for as weight goes. as for the sped..........i dunno how much faster it will ACTUALLY go, but i can bet it would seem like you were FLYING compared to what you have now.

60 - 75 hp should get you between 30 - 38mph... a tad more with a s. steel prop.

If you have the standard hull 35-38 is all you gonna see outta that boat. If you have the revolution hull you will be able to see 42-43 but only after some careful setup.

I wish I could get my hands on an empty revolution hull, they are sweet. What I could do with that and some $$$.

How do I know what kind of hull I have? Also, If the outboard is a 1985 75hp is it really 75hp or is it less?

The older style was really a flat bottom-shallow v hybrid. The newer ones look more like a true bass boat hull, they are very sleek and hydrodynamic for an aluminum boat.

You and I both would like to play around with one of those Revo hulls. I would like to see just what I could get out of one. I already have done the Express and Wareagle boats......havent done a G3 yet.
