Had a really good outing yesterday afternoon on my home lake in Ohio. I fished from 2-6 and was able to catch 7 largemouth, 4 dinks and 3 good keepers. The surface temperature has dropped to 62 and I think the transitional pattern is all but done, most of the fish have entered a full fall pattern.
I found all 7 fish up shallow, in about 3-4 FOW or less, around rock or timber. My lures of choice for the day were a white buzzbait, white spinnerbait with gold, tandem colorado blades, and a watermelon 3/8 oz. football jig with a watermelon candy Sweat Beaver trailer. The biggest weighed in at 4 lbs. She ate the spinnerbait at the edge of a submerged tree, after I bounced it off a few limbs. Definitely didn't like that she'd been hooked ![]() Sorry if the quality is poor, all I had was my phone.
