Monkey Finally Satisfied!

Okay...I finally finished my rod and reel collection for this year. I am taking a solemn vow not to buy any more, even if I manage to fall on one, drop one into the lake, etc....you get the picture.

I just took advantage of Aqua Superstore's great prices and bought myself two new Vendetta spinning rods.

I got a 7' medium for general use, and a 6'9" ML for drop shotting those picky Smallies at Dale Hollow. Not bad at all for $123 to my door (and thank the Lord, they offer UPS!!)

Since I think my 2500 Daiwa reel is a bit too large and heavy for a true drop shot rig, I knuckled under to the monkey and bought an AG Soron STX10 off ebay for $98, shipped. All I need now is some 6lb fluorocarbon, and I'm set.

I think I will give my spare Daiwa and an old Berkley spinning rod I have to my fishing buddy Mark, who only has one spinning rod (he's a big time catfisherman, with a bunch of heavy baitcasting tackle). He's coming to Dale with me, and you guys will love this guy. He is an absolute fish-a-holic, who also likes to fish all day and night, every day and night.

We'll see if you're attituda changes if you actually do break one falling down a hill or drop one in the lake.

You got hit bad this year dude, lets just hope you don't get the urge to buy something else in the summer.

The more I think about it. I'm not done lol. Want another Catalyst and if I don't buy a new spinning reel, I'll be cranking with my old Shekespeare Agility. (My Exceler went to reel heaven)

I'm closing in on it. From what I saw, nofear took the right approach. Buy what you WANT. The higher end gear is gonna add to your enjoyment, last longer, and mesmerize you when you can't get out there and fish.

I think I need to be done too! I've already bought 3 reels since Christmas and about 80 lbs of baits. It's bad when you can't even count how many baits and bags of baits you've bought, it's easier to think of it in lbs! I've also already built one rod this year and got all stuff in to start a spinning rod yesterday. I've already blown my yearly fishing budget and it's still February. On the plus side though just about everything I bought was at pretty deep discount.

If you find a MVA meeting let me know, I need help!

I looked at an apartment the other day out here in Vegas. $44,900 in a gated community. If I could sell my house at the appraised value (yeah right), I'd be done with winters forever

That's the kicker right there. I've done the same. I'm trying to think of anything I've bought since November that wasn't on a big sale.
My Solar Bats were normal price, but still 10 bucks less than anyplace else I looked.
3 rods, 2 reels, line, plastics, cranks, all on good sales

Money is real tight for me this year so I am trying to keep the monkey at bay. Just got my Powell frog rod in yesterday but been trying to take it easy. One more rod to buy and then a 2-3 reels, a lot of line, and some tubes should be about all. That's the plan anyway.
