Thanks fella's. I went to the same lake last weekend and got skunked but I saw a LOT of fish. They just would not touch any of my Big lake baits.

So.. since I had not tried my New Sahara spinning reels yet... I figured why not!
Rigged up the drop shots and had a great time. Those reels are NICE too.

There were about a dozen people around the lake and everyone saw the big one as she jumped about 4 times and mad a real ruckus. Got her in and held her up and got some congrats for the others.

That's gotta feel good, especially this time of year.

Sounds like a great time! And some nice fish too.

That looks like one of those new Field and Stream rods from Dick's. How do you like it so far? How's the balance and sensitivity? Make sure you write a good review after you've used it a while.

They are the Tec-Spec rods from Field & Stream. I bought two of them ($59ea) in 6'9" Med just for drop shooting. Very happy with the feel. I have 8 lb P-line CX on one and 8 lb Seguar Invisx on the other.
The big fish put a pretty good bend in the rod but still had enough back bone to lead the fish. Very happy with them!
I caught fish on both but used the CX line rod the most since it cast farther. Both lines did well but I'm not sold on the Fluro deal on light line rigs. May be better difference in higher strength lines on the visibility issue. The water had about 3-4 ft visibility.
