tie or snap?

hi all im new to bass fishing :-[ need to know do you tie or use snaps on your bait`s ??? thanks

Most definately a tie. A snap will hurt the action on most lures.

depends on what i am using every thing but crankbaits i tie it on when i am seaching i use a snap. in a tourny i have them tied on -i normally will have it narroewed down to a couple differant lures.

I tie everything except for crankbaits I use a snap so I can change lures quickly.

Welcome to the forum!

Tie-I either use a Palomar knot or a Trilene knot. I used snap swivels when I was a kid until one came open and my favorite crankbait went sailing off to the murky depths. Never again after that.

I use small duolock snaps. I don't believe they affect the lure's action, but that's only my personal observation. Nevertheless, I have 100% confidence when using them.

TIE!

I have seen some instances where a snap is handy,
read that back of the crankbait, some recommend a snap, some top water floaters do to.
However I never use them at all, I have been with guys that are old and for thier poor eyesight it really helps.
Also a snap or barrell swivel is used on carolina rigs with a leader, and also on top water floaters worms so that the line won't twist as your reel
I dont use them for couple of reasons, I trust my knots more, and two, somehow I think the bass that are finicky wont go near them,, could be my imagination on that one, and third, I takes away from the sensing a tick or thump on your line IMO

some of my lures snaps work fine on but others. (like my jitterbug for instance) makes the front end hang down too low making it look un-natraul

Another thing after catching a few fish its a good idea to retie anyway. I always retie after catching about three. They really don't save a lot of time if you do this.

it takes me about 5-7 seconds to tie a polamor knot. that is depending on the conditions. and my hands...lol

Tie everything except crankbaits, I use a Norman SpeedClip on those.
