				 | Trolling motor issues

I have an 06 tracker pro team 175 with a motor guide 46lb thrust foot control trolling motor on the bow. My problem is the pull chord continues to snap because it is rubbing on a sharp edge. There is a small hole in which the chord runs through, the egdes of the hole are sharp. I bought his boat used, is there something missing from this like a plastic insert? Or just a poor design on motor? Anyone else have this problem and come up with fix?

I had a similar issue when I installed my used trolling motor. I used a dremmel to sand down the rough edges and then super glued a rubber washer to the inside of the hole. The washer had a smaller opening than the metal. I haven't had an issue since.

Mine broke seveal times - the rope just doesn't hold up. I replaced mine with the aircraft cable availabe at Cabela's (and now on sale). Works great, it won't break for quite a while. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...-box.jsp.form1
