Default Two Ponds

There are two ponds in my neighborhood. One, everybody is allowed to fish in. And one, only I am allowed to fish in. In the first pond I named, the fish won't bite anything. In the second, the fish will bite anything. They are right next to each other. Why won't the fish in pond #1 bite?

its hard to determine that over the internet, too many variable, however one possibility would be the first one is over fished causing the fish to feel pressured, therefore only feeding on natural food/presentations.

Maybe in the first pond people are throwing everthing at the bass, and they dont know what is what anymore. Just try something way different like a smaller plastic worm or a smaller spinnerbait.

more then likely it is because the first pond is over fished. the bass are so used to seeing a lure, and getting hooked, that they say screw it and stick to what they ate before all the lures and what not. this will happen to every pond if someone fishes it to much. thats why, i make sure to space time between the time i fish a pond, and fish different areas each time. even if the pond is barely fished by anybody else.

how do you know it wasnt over fished before you moved there? maybe the pond just doesnt hold much bass. which seems weird, but can happen. someone could come around there with live bait and take all the bass they catch. unless you watch the pond 24/7, then you have no idea who fishes it.

thats pushin it alittle to far there. we all know what he is saying. anyways, are you always at your house? do you not go to school all day? people could come fish then. and you guys could have over fished it last year. you will be surprised at how little it takes to over fish a pond.

Yeah, I don't watch it while I'm at school, but I know who fishes. My neighborhood is pretty small.

im not trying to say you dont know about your pond, but people do have legs, cars, and bikes. they can get there from around the area. they may fish there for as little as 30 minutes, and have 5-6 bass that they keep. that is what may be happening to the pond.

Everybody who fishes(about 5 people) have all agreed to do catch-and-release only. I don't think it's overfished. It is a pretty small pond, and the other lake i much bigger. Could that have some effect?

the only thing that could happen is if there arnt much bass in the pond. i still think it is probally overfished. you 5 guys could have agreed to cnr, but other people could come around and fish. you never know.

How do stock your pond? I have noticed there aren't as many bass. This pond is very shallow. You can see the bass wherever they are.

If the water is clear and shallow enough that you can see the bass, then that is probably the reason you aren't catching them. If you can see them, then they can definitely see you.

Ok, I exagerrated a little. It's not that small. You can see them if they're close to shore but that's it.
