Default nofear or others Kistler helium LTXII compaired to LTA

nofear I noticed in another thread you said you have a Kistler LTX. Is it your first Kistler? I have a couple of LTA's and was wondering how much of a difference, better or other between them there might be.

Yes, it is my first Kistler.

I think Boogie would be the authority on Kistlers...

I would say that Kistler seems to totally change their rods every year. So it would be very hard for me to say, given that I only own one model (2009 LTX). For instance, I did not want the 2010 LTX, because they don't offer Recoil guides on them (only 2009....I think).

I will also say that it is a very, very nice stick, and I look forward to my first fish on it (I'm trying hard!!).

Quick answer - generally the LTX is a lighter more sensitive blank. Differences would depend upon which (year) LTA you wanted to compare. As NFE said since 2007 the LTA has had several changes each year. The LTX also changed each year (rods I'm familiar with) from 2008. Explaining the changes affecting the comparison would take way too much room here. If you would like more infomation IM me, I'll give you my email address. In an e-mail, tell me which LTA's you have (year & model #'s would help me a lot) and what you like or dislike about them (for comparison). Also tell me which LTX you may be considering and what you intend to use it for and I'll give you more details and/or suggestions.

Also know that I am NOT sponsored by Kistler or have any ties with them at all.
