Making your own pork trailers?
Hey guys, I was thinking a while ago with my dad about pork frogs. And we had the thought. Why not make our own?!
So we just started brain storming different ways to make pork trailers. First thing that comes to mind is pig hide, since that's what they're made out of anyways (right). I think you can buy just the hide in the store, or when ever we have a big roast or something with the skin on it, take it off and make some frogs! Next thing was Thick cut bacon! Just cut that up into the shape you want and add it to a salty brine in a jar. I've got some of the cut up now! Next thing was Raw Hides! Like what you give to yer dog to chew on! Take one of these soak it in water over night, and it'll become soft again. Cut that up and put it in a brine! One thing we couldn't figure out was how to add color? Would you just add dye to the brine? How do these ideas sounds to you? And has/does anyone make there own pork trailers?

Holly crap! This is some labor intensive stuff! On top of that I'm sore a heel from working out a football practice the last few days and I took a long jog before I started this..
But man, I made some outta the raw hide (hard stuff for the dogs), and soaked it water to re-hydrate it. Than I had to unroll it which was the second worst part. After that I had to pond the sh!t out of with a hammer to make a soft. Than I let it soak further more in some water with food colored.. it turned it purple. Too purple. Than I had to cut it all into shape.. like 15 frogs and 2 eels. That was the worst port BY FAR!! That took probably an hour to. So after standing for an a few hours. I'm sore as hell! These things better catch a SH!T LOAD of pigs.. otherwise I'll be pissed! Still have not found away to sent them without adding salt (hardens them to much), or something that'll rot. Any Ideers for that?
