Crunch - you gotta laugh

I gotta slight slope in the yard where I keep the boat (in front of the pool).
I had been using a couple of wally world inexpensive plastic wheel cocks...been working well. Yesterday as I was leaving for the lake, I forget about the chocks and figure I'll back up a bit to get a better cut out of the driveway... Crunch. Crap.
Tonight I went down in the basement, scrounged some scrap lumber and made new chocks.

Harbor Freight sells some good rubber chocks. Good thing, there is a 20% coupon in just about every magazine known to man for that place.

sorry pal. at least your WIFE didn't back her suv into your rig and knock it back about 20 feet. yes gang lisa did that about a month ago. talk about a man wanting to cry.

Just another of the thousands of things we can make ourselves, but rely on china to make for us out of inferior materials and their radically lower labor rates. Good job!

Thanks - not fancy, just a 2x2 and a 2x4 screwed together with a couple of 3"deck screws, but will do the job just fine (and won't crack 'n break if I forget and back up again!)

Short pieces of a landscape timber work great (they're the perfect shape). I've got 2 that I've had for over 20 years.

I just use whatever blocks of lumber I happen to have laying around at the time. Currently I believe I have a 2x6 block on one side and a 2x4 on the other.

Thats what we were useing. (untill they split in half this year) Now we have the wally ones. lol
