Default Another one bass morning.

I just can't seem to find a groove with these bass. All of my one shot mornings have been first few cast fish, then nothing for hours. I am not about to give up though. One little fish is better than no fish at all.

I got this one on a Spoiler Shad swim bait from Creme in firetiger. It's a nice little molded swim bait with good action. I got several more follows, but no more strikes. I am going to get a few more colors and see if that helps the strike ratio.

I took my nephew, Mikey, out for breakfast. He has a microspin reel that I gave him to play with. I am trying to get him started early!

Sorry about your bad streek man, but yer 100% right, 1 is better than non! And good to see yer trying to start the Jr. out early.. git 'em hooked for life!

All I can say is find the thickest cover, and coolest water, you can find. Go slow, and up size! Bass not gonna want to spend much energy to get a meal. A big minnow, and a small minnow take the same amount of energy for a bass to eat, and he gets more nutance from the bigger minner.

Good luck!

This is why soft plastcis and (contrary to yoru Dicks friend) Jigs are great in hot water... crawfsh are high protein and Bass know this, so if they find something moving slow on teh bottom it is a better target than a fast moving baitfish... if they are follwong your bait and are not hitting... try fishing an unweighted jerk bait in a similar color... in a larger size like boss said...

Also notice you are getting hit early when they are more active on your faster presentations... try gettin out a little earlier.. and when they stop hittig things that move , you gotta try things that move slower or dont move much at all...

I have a problem with this as I used to be a dedicated Crank/Spinner guy.. and if they wouldnt hit those two things i just assumed they werent "there"... when in reality the fish were alwasy there and i wasnt givin em what they needed...

Hey John, you mentioned that you had several follows without strikes. That usually indicates that you are working the bait too fast. Changing up your retrieve will sometimes remedy that (slow, fast, slow, stop, start,etc.). One of the best ways to slow yourself down though, is to do as walkeraviator suggested & switch to plastics & jigs. I would be willing to wager that once you properly equip yourself, & become proficient at using them, they will become your "go to" baits. Isn't this stuff a real hoot, John?

It sure is a lot to take in, digest, and try to put into practice, but a hoot it is!
