I was having another abysmal time on the lake yesterday, when I suddenly gave up, tore a tiny section of a plastic worm off and put it on a panfish hook. Bada-bing, bluegills! Certainly better than nothing, but I still wanted a bass. So I put a new worm on a t-rig and worked. Nothing. Tried a few more colors and shapes, still nothing. Then I got it in my head, it's gloomy and dark out, bright colors. So I put on a lipless crank in fire tiger. First cast I got a big bass on, but he got off. Same cast another bass, the one in the pic, hits the crank right after the big one gets off. I ended up landing him and getting the picture. Unfortunately we got chased out by lightning and rain after that. Still, it was fun to catch anything!

Yeah, as you can see by the smile on my face, that little bass made my day. Heck it even made my week, Skunked pretty much describes my entire month. I was sick as a dog the first half, and couldn't catch a fish to save my life the second. I sure hope July proves more fruitful.

i am just FLOORED that bream hit an ARTIFICIAL worm, hahahahahaha. NICE! gonna remember that one. save all the tore up lizzards and such. then tell the MRS to hook em up when she wants to go bust some bream.

Yeah, that's an old trick I've used for years. You gotta be quick on the set though, because they don't hold onto it for long!

yep I have been doing that for years.... I have also found a few places where they really like small pieces of the cheapest hot dogs possible, usually Bar S, store brand or whatever the grocery store has on hand for 89 cents.

Cheap fatty hamburger. I have caught so many fish using that.
