Default New Personal Best!

It's not a monster, but its big for me! It's also a nice fish for shore fishing in a public park.

3lbs 4oz and 21 1/2 inches! Long and skinny! Previous PB was 2lbs 11oz

Weather was heavy clouds with occasional light rain which turned to heavy enough rain to end my day soaking wet.

I caught about 8 bass or so over 10" and 3 were over 2lbs, so it was a great day for me!

I caught all of the bass on my baitcaster with 50lb braid with 12lb fluoro leader and black and blue chatterbait.

Nice fish, tismo! Where's that body of water located? I'm working in Walker for the next 2-3 months, and wouldn't mind finding a shore fishing spot nearby

Congrats, I'm a little jealous. I am completely fishless on chatterbaits this season!

I have never used a chatterbait. How do you fish them?

Its a hard lure to fish wrong John....I treat them and throw them like any spinnerbait/bladed bait
I like to cast them out and and during the retrieve 5-7 turns on the handle...pause and let them sink 2-3 seconds...Then slowly raise my entire forarm (Not just the wrist) to give the blade a hard vibration...and repeat.
I feel raising the entire forarm gives a more fluid presentation...Just MO
They do best for me around brushpiles and laydowns

I like chatterbaits alot....I throw them more in the fall, but they catch year round.

Great fish Krtismo!!..Always great upping the PB status.....Still waiting on my new one!

John waffle is right they are a really tough bait to fish wrong , I do like adding a super fluke on the back of them for a trailer (great tip from a member on the board) and also use a trailer hook .

Krtismo great fish man , seeing the rain hitting the water like screams buzzbait to me man

Well you're in luck, this lake is actually IN Walker, MI.

It's in Millennium Park, near the Grand River.

Here is a map of the route I fished with some added info.

PM me if you have anymore questions!

They are very versatile, you can fish them slow or fast depending on how aggressive the fish are. I happened to be fishing it very fast just under the surface so that you could see a small V-wave forming, but without breaking the surface.

Chatterbaits are a lot like spinnerbaits except that they have more resistance, which means you can fish them a bit slower than a spinnerbait without the lure sinking. That resistance also creates a significant thumping underwater. I really like them, I plan on buying a few more.
