I have had my new ride for a few weeks and it has spent more time at marinas then me using it, as of now when at cruising speed it will shut off for no reason, restarting dont happen but cranks fine, after sitting for a few it will start up again, as of now I am starting to get PO'ed at Towne Marine since they called me to pick my boat up this past Monday and still no call to arrange the pick up...not a happy customer right now. |

Sorry to here about the problems w/your new ride. Sounds like a fuel problem - next time it dose it give the primer bulb a good pumping. The bulb sould stay simi frim. I had the same thing happen to my 150 turned out to be a loose fuel line sucking in air.

Sounds like the module getting hot and shutting down, after it cools down it will start again. I hope they get it fixed for you.

could be either and/or BOTH of above statements. if it is gettinghot and shutting down, might be a water problem. not getting water in the cool it off? i am guessing buddy.

Too bad. I've had a 150 and 200 on my boats. Never had a problem. I've heard these problems with merc's. Some shops are better with Yamaha's than others(its all about how busy and talented mechanics are).

Water is not the issue, looking more and more like electrical issues as of now, guess we will see since they picked the boat up this past Thursday, some of the guys I have talked with are leaning towards a fuel pump diaghram problem.

Had to call Towne today, since they seem to loose my number every time, they asked me if they had the boat....gees they picked it up, long story short, Towne is not customer friendly to say the least, and the boat is sitting and waiting for service in there yard STILL!!!!

That sucks, it does seem very hard to find a good service department. I've been lucky enough to stay out of them for the most part but I have heard some negative remarks about Towne. I don't know if you are like me but if I'm not working then I'm out fishing so every day without my boat is like being without a car. If at least service departments were honest about their schedules it would be O.K. because then I could decide to take it there or not. The fact that they have had your boat for 7 days and haven't even looked at it makes me mad.

Put the boat in, no go in reverse or forward and the zinc plate missing, back to Towne and repaired while I waited, back to lake and a lost 3 hours of prime fishing and boat kicked butt and got a few good bass and biggest was over 3 lbs , hope the boat goes great for here on out. |

glad to hear you got it fixed. funny though how a lot of repair shops "forget" things ain't it? you would think they would have a tank, 55gal drum or SOMETHING to put the prop in and test run it before they send it out. anyway, at least you got now pal. and oyu got to fish and CAUGHT a few. one thing though.............PICTURES, LOL!!!
