				 | Anyone remember Basskits?

Howdy from central OH. New to the forum but an oldie finally finding time to enjoy my old bass boat again. I built my bass boat from a kit from Glassline back in 1978. I used it regularly for 5-7 yrs and became so busy I let er set for many, many years in storage. Squirrels filled the hull with walnuts, ate wires for lunch and generally fouled things thouroughly. I did always keep the motor lubed and freed up. Just this summer I tackled the job of redoing the whole thing again, including trailer. Motor runs like a top but I'll need to do a water pump. Wondering how many of you may remember these kits. Looking forward to jawin.

WELCOME TO THE SITE MY FRIEND! This is the best on the web buddy. And i must say that now that you reminded me, i DO remember the basskits. My dad was gonna get one way back then. Now yours looks GREAT! Can't envision it being like you describe it was before you re-done it. Looks brand new. Great job! And thanks for the pics. We love seeing pictures of rigs.

Thanks for the welcome bama! I'm sure I'll find a lot of good resource from the forum. I wish I'd have taken pictures from the start of re-doing my boat. The wiring was the primary damage having to start over again. I'd say I removed 3+ bushels of walnut shells and you can imagine the left over filth and the boat smelled like urine. I sprayed it down inside with clorox and let the hose run for hours with the drain plug pulled. Here's a pic of my suspended boat and a pic of my trailer before changing it over to a bunk.

Thanks, guys. Ya know it seems I can recall the hull being the same as the Terry. Guess it's possible one or either of the companies used the same mold or one bought out the other? I remember now that you mentioned it.

That boat looks great, like brand new! Being from Baltimore, do you fish Buckeye Lake or Dillon? I grew up in Coshocton and family is from Lancaster but I haven't fished much around there although I plan to next summer.

Hey Bender.....sorry for the delayed response. Yea, I fish both Buckeye and Dillon as they are closest to me. Dillon has some nice bass structure being the Licking River. I just finished getting my boat and trailer back into commission so I didn't get it out at all this past season but sure plan to in the spring. Other lakes within range of Lancaster is Deer Creek, Paint Creek, and Rocky Fork for the bigger boats. Obviously there are a lot of smaller lakes and ponds with decent fishing.

				 | Bass Boat Kit

I actually have one of these sitting behind my garage. Bought it a couple of years ago for very cheap, with the motor and trailor. Was deployed and as of yet did not have the time to start restoring it. I am going to start this summer, providing I can find the plans (blueprints/instructions) for it. Any detailed pictures you can send me would be GREATLY appreciated.

lilmule, I have never been to Salt Fork but I planned on it this summer since it looks really nice on the map and is only 30 minutes from my mom's house. Why didn't you like it?
